Mat, Wrap it & Pack!

MARCH 26, 2006 - Jane Vega's greatest fear was that something valuable would get broken. A business associate had warned her about all the problems and damage the mover they used caused. "I called the list of references (
Vic's provided) and they all gave such high reviews . . . at the end of the day when I was presented with the final bill and it was even lower than the bid, I was pleasantly surprised.  I wouldn't recommend moving to anyone but if you have to move, Vic's is the logical choice," said Vega. Besides moving Jane's Spectrum Wealth Advisors, Raymond James Financial Services, without damage, Vic's protected building surfaces by using the Mat-A-Door® on glass entry doors, stretch wrapping blanketed office furniture to guard against scratches, and cushioning packed items with special pink Comp-U-Wraps®.

A Winning Combination
Vic's brings Hope to
battered KC women

MARCH 2005 - When Richard Bitterman, president of Vic’s Moving, asked for volunteers to help women in need, he knew the response from employees would be good. The need? Storing and transporting furniture for Hope House, Missouri's largest domestic violence shelter. The response? Four big, strong guys with hearts of gold.

Vic's employees Brian Eagan, Bryan Coffer, Caleb Billings and Nathan Wells volunteer to pick up and deliver donated furniture for Hope House, Missouri's largest domestic violence shelter.

Vic’s has teamed up with Hope House to supply volunteer labor to pick up and deliver donated furniture to the new residents of battered women. Vic’s will also store donated pieces and provide a truck for pick-ups and deliveries several times each month.

“Currently the staff at Hope House is storing sofas in employees’ garages and basements.  Their current staff is not really equipped to deliver sofas as easily and efficiently as Vic’s can,” said Bitterman

The first step was orientation on Feb 15 at Hope House headquarters in Independence, MO.  The initial training was given to
Vic’s employees Nathan Wells, Bryan Coffer, Brian Eagan, and Caleb Billings by Rita Witt, director of Clinical Services for Hope House. Training covered such topics as how to handle difficult situations and the very important standards and privacy issues covered under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).

Over the past 20 years, Hope House programs and services have expanded to include outreach therapy, court advocacy, a safe visitation center, hospital based advocacy, on-call women's advocates who work with area police departments, professional trainings on domestic violence for medical students, newly recruited police officers, corporations, hospital personnel, social workers and prevention programs in area schools.

Hope House's hotline and programs help more than 15,000 battered women and children each year. To donate furniture, contact richard@vicsmoving.com or call 816-842-7700.

Ed Katz of IOMI schools Vic's personnel during certification training.

JULY 2004 - After three intensive days of training with Ed Katz of the International Office Moving Institute (IOMI), Vic's Moving was awarded Certified Mover certificates in both office and residential moving.

“This training will allow us to serve our customers with a proven system never before seen in Kansas City.” said Richard Bitterman, president of
Vic’s.

Ed Katz, the guru of office moving, trained the entire company on the ideas and tasks relevant to their particular position.

“In my opinion, Richard has what it takes to build the best moving company in their market.  He has all the ingredients to make him successful - a passion for the industry, enthusiasm, integrity, and care and respect for their employees and customers,” Katz said.
